Default 359 miles & 24 hours air time in 6 days

Say what? And you all thought CA was epic. King Mtn had the best 6 days of XC weather in the past 11+ years.

Here's a sample: http://imageevent.com/aero92/king2010

Although I left my OHF hat in Long Beach, I did have my club t-shirt.

Cheers, Jonathan

As always, thanks for the great video Jonathan! I really hope all of your time and effort that you spend editing pays off. If your hang gliding videos were offered on Pay-Per-View, I would watch 'em. Time Warner needs a change of pace from wrestling anyway.

Woot "down wind landing" in a topless, no less!

As always great flying.

And, I've always wondered NME? (can't picture you as an enemy to anybody) What's the story/logic behind the screen name? Can't wrap my head around it.

Either way, sooner or later I'll have to accompany Mr. Halfhill and fly the CA sites with you guys some day.

It's funny how I also did 150' long landing runs into gusty 20 mph headwinds. Anything to keep those wings level and prevent ground-loops. Style points be damned!

NME was the name of an ultra-lowracer recumbent bicycle I used to own. A word play on No More Excuses. It precedes my recent days of hang gliding and I didn't bother to set up another YouTube account so it stuck.

Patrick had a good time and some nice flying. I still have a bunch of video from his flight and our search for his missing vario bracket that I need to edit.

Meanwhile, I've completed editing the ultra-scenic Day 3,Route 1 video from King Mt.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZSdRVHEvjGY

Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of scenic King Mountain Route 1 from 50' to 16,000' above 12,000' peaks and 10,000' frozen lakes. See virga evaporating from 18,000' cloud base and massive sun bursts beaming through dark clouds and spreading across 50-miles of valley floor. See why I fly on this epic 55-mile 3-1/2 cruise through hang glider paradise!

Cheers, Jonathan

Default NME = recumbent

Interesting. I'd always wondered where the NME came from. I just picked up a recumbent from my dad this weekend. He gave me his Infinity. Because of my broken collarbone from the bike accident in June, I'm no supposed to put a lot of stress on my shoulder and collarbone, so I really shouldn't be riding an upright for a while. I figured getting out the 'bent would get me back on the road quicker, while still being kind to the healing bones.

Excellent idea. I have my bike configured so there's minimal pressure or stress on my anatomy and I can just focus on pedaling. The leg and hip muscles are used a little differently and it takes a while to develop the same level of strength riding recumbent as it does upright. The blood circulation from riding hopefully will help you heal better. I'm in serious need of more riding myself. I've turned into an air spud.
