Default New Paraglider Pilot

Hello all, this is Brian. I'm new to the site, just got my P2 in New Mexico over the summer, and I'm waiting for the actual USHPA registration to arrive in the mail (should show up next week). From what I've read and seen, Ohio does not look very friendly to unpowered paragliding. Should I look into powered paragliding to get my fix? Is there anybody who can recommend a good flying site / instructor near Columbus?

Brian, welcome to the flat state of Ohio. Towing is what we do here and John Alden manages winch towing and I think aerotowing is out of the question for you. One foot launch hill is maintained by the Ohioflyers but is used mostly by flex wing flyers. Ken Munn has been known to train PPG and PG but he has been scarce lately. Keep an eye here and come on out to WesMar and meet many of the folks who are an active part of our group. You can also talk to John and see if winch towing maight be a part of your future.

Thanks, I'll try to make it there tomorrow. Even if I don't get a chance to go up personally, I'd love to meet you all and see what my options are.
